NEWS CENTER- It was learned that Sibel Balaç was kept alone in the sections called the temporary ward of Bakırköy Women’s Prison.
In a statement on its Twitter account, the People’s Law Office said, “Sibel Balaç is kept at vital risk without an accompanying person, despite the medical report stating that she cannot stay alone.”
The lawyers of Sibel Balaç, who is on death fast, shared on their Twitter account that their client was rushed out of the hospital in the morning hours, but they did not know where she was taken.
Sibel Balaç continues her death fast for 282 days in Sincan Women’s Closed Prison. Sibel’s lawyer, Ceren Yılmaz, applied for a postponement of the execution on September 6 under Article 16 of the Execution Law. Balaç was transferred to Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt Dışkapı Hospital on September 7, when she was on the 265th day of her death fast.
Sibel, who lost 3 kilos in 7 days during her stay in the ward in the annex building of the hospital, was referred to the Health Board on 16 September. The decision of the health board regarding Sibel, who started a death fast, was communicated to her lawyers. While the report shared the opinion that “she could stay in prison”, it also stated that Sibel could not sustain her life on her own.

People’s Law Office stated “We were not allowed to meet with our client, who was brought to Bakırköy Women’s Prison today, because it was the weekend and our client was convicted. When we wanted to submit our report and petition to the prison administration stating that our client should not be kept alone, we were informed that the 1st Prison Director, the 2nd Director, Warden and Sergeant Warden were not in the prison. The current staff also refused to receive our petition.”
