Announcement of Victory during the Vigil for Justice in Vienna

For more than a year vigils and solidarity actions have been continuing in the Austrian city Vienna to defend the struggle of political prisoners for justice and to demand the freedom for sick prisoners. The death fast resistance was in the heart of our actions and thousands of leaflets and news were spread to call the people for solidarity with this resistance.

The last vigil that was organized near the church in the Mariahilfer Street in Vienna, took place on 12th October, the 298th day of death fast resistance of teacher Sibel Balac.

The vigil was held from 6.00-7.00 p.m and dozens of flyers about the death fast resistance were spread while informing the people in the speeches about the 3rd victory in this resistance.

Gökhan Yildirim who was released and had continued his death fast until the 256th day, Ileri Kizilaltun who was released in his last court hearing and still continues his death fast for 60 days, and finally Sibel Balac who was released after her determined struggle on the 298th day of her hunger resistance, once again showed to the oppressors that the political prisoners in Turkey are not accepting injustices and that they were ready to resist even at risk of their lives.

We want to Salute once again this great and courageous example of struggle to gain justice for all the prisoners who suffer from the conditions they live in.

We congratulate Sibel Balac once again for this victory and wish her and Gökhan Yildirim as fast as possible to recover.

And finally, we express our solidarity with Ileri Kizilaltun who has been marching with Sibel and Gökhan and is continuing his hunger strike with the demand for fair trial, the release of sick prisoners and the end of rights violations and isolation measures in the prisons.

Ali Osman Köse and all other sick prisoners shall be released! The policy that kills the sick prisoners must stop immediately and the right to health and life be granted!

WE WANT FREEDOM FOR ALI OSMAN KÖSE AND ALL ILL PRISONERS Ali Osman Köse is a political prisoner who has been in prison for 37 years in Turkey. 21 years of his captivity have been spent in isolation cells. Ali Osman Köse is a prisoner who has many health problems due to long-term conditions of captivity, torture and isolation. He has many health problems such as neurological problems, circulatory system-related diseases, hypertension, hearing loss, loss of balance, stomach problems, visual disorders. He cannot walk alone today without clinging to the wall due to these health problems he has experienced. He can't meet his requirements such as using the bathroom, sink or doing his laundry unaided, he can't even eat his food without assistance. Ali Osman Köse's most important health problem today is the cancerous mass in his kidney. A 9 cm diameter cancerous cyst was found in his left kidney; it was said that these cancerous cells pose a vital risk and should be operated on urgently. But despite the fact that months have passed since the diagnosis, he is still not operated on, his treatment is blocked, so he is expected to die in prison. Barriers to Ali Osman Köse's treatment should be removed, he should be treated in appropriate conditions and released immediately so that he can regain his health.
